About Lake Martin

Known as the Lake Tahoe of the South, Lake Martin is located on the southern edge of the Appalachian Mountains.

Lake Martin is a pristine, clear water lake with emerald green/blue water rivaling the Caribbean. Lake Martin's 45,000 acres is the Crown Jewel of Southeastern USA Lakes, and for that matter, it may well be the Crown Jewelof all lakes. With approx. With 850 miles of shoreline and over 80 islands to explore, Lake Martin provides the ultimate playground for water activities of all kinds. The shoreline distance is approx. the same as the coastline distance from New Orleans to Miami.  The mild climate at Lake Martin makes it perfect for year-round use. It is the perfect lake for sailing and all types of water sports.  In 2010, Lake Martin was named a Treasured Lake by Governor Bob Riley.
